The role involves using AI coding assistants to explore code, draft or refine changes, configure coding agents or subagents, and create tests, while reviewing and validating AI-generated work. This position applies existing AI capabilities and does not involve training or developing AI models from scratch.

- Incorporate feedback from supervisor and teammates into completed assignments.
- Build and improve small applications, agents, and AI-assisted workflows supporting member experiences or internal operations.
- Write and debug Python scripts or application features for data processing, task automation, or connecting data sources, APIs, models, and business tools.
- Use approved AI coding assistants for development tasks like understanding code, drafting/refining code, configuring agents, and creating/updating tests.
- Review and validate AI suggestions before use.
- Build and test prototypes and updates to existing solutions.
- Review approach with supervisor and seek guidance for changes affecting system design, security, or production use.
- Test workflows with representative questions and tasks, recording usefulness, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
- Investigate failures and implement improvements within assigned scope.
- Use GitHub, Azure DevOps, and team practices for version control, testing, documentation, and code review.
- Support experienced teammates as changes are prepared for use and monitored.
- Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, business partners, IT, and security colleagues to understand data sources, operational needs, and privacy/security requirements.
- Explore relevant tools and capabilities and share practical findings and suggestions with the team.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of professional experience in software development, data, analytics, automation, or a related technical field. Candidates with less professional experience may be considered if internships, fellowships, or substantial projects demonstrate capabilities.

- Ability to explain how Python code works, how problems were investigated, and how results were verified, including AI-assisted contributions.
- Experience completing a technical project or assignment that solved a practical problem.
- Ability to describe the purpose, contribution, challenges, and testing of a completed technical project.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools in software development through work, internship, coursework, or personal project.
