About the Role
As a Software Engineer on our Applied AI team, you'll design and build agent systems that understand user situations, take action on their behalf, and identify when human intervention is needed. You will work directly with founders and the engineering team to transition agent capabilities from prototype to production, focusing on reliability and dependability.
Responsibilities
- Design and build agent systems that understand user situations, take action on their behalf, and identify when human intervention is needed.
- Take agent capabilities from prototype to production.
- Build evaluation frameworks to measure quality, accuracy, and safety, and to catch regressions.
- Develop guardrails and escalation paths for agent trustworthiness with sensitive information.
- Create retrieval and memory systems for agent context.
- Build integration layers connecting AI models, third-party services, and internal systems.
- Implement feedback loops and data pipelines to improve the agent weekly.
Requirements
- 2-10 years building production software with modern technologies.
- Hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered features or agents to real users.
- Strong grasp of prompt design, retrieval, tool calling, and agent orchestration patterns.
- Experience building evaluation systems and using them to drive product decisions.
- Strong backend skills (e.g. Python or Node.js, APIs, data pipelines).
- Experience deploying on AWS.
