About the Role
At Lab Alley, we're building the "Amazon of Chemicals" and seeking an exceptional Director of Operations to drive our mission of revolutionizing the chemical industry. This pivotal role will optimize end-to-end efficiency, safety, and compliance, working closely with the CEO and senior leadership to spearhead operational strategy, scale logistics infrastructure, and build a sustainable global marketplace.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor key leaders across Supply Chain, Product, Production, Shipping, and Fulfillment.
- Ensure on-time delivery, adaptability during demand fluctuations, and stock readiness.
- Drive operational execution to meet rigorous standards of safety, quality, and speed.
- Design and execute long-term operational vision in partnership with the CEO and senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, eliminate bottlenecks, and lower costs.
- Modernize systems, dashboards, and productivity leveraging SQL, Excel, and BI platforms.
- Gather operational insights across warehouse logistics, quality control, and compliance.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Finance to align company goals.
- Support scalable business growth and maintain strict environmental and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- 10+ Years of Operations Experience in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
- Proven success managing and developing leaders across product operations, supply chain, production, and shipping/fulfillment.
- Proficiency in leveraging analytics tools to solve complex operational challenges, optimize resources, and track performance KPIs.
- Deep commitment to quality control, compliance, safety protocols, and sustainable business practices.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Ability to translate complex operational metrics into actionable business insights.
- Effectively report on critical KPIs such as order-to-shipment ratios, fulfillment throughput, and system downtime.
- Direct experience in the chemical, e-commerce, life sciences, or regulated distribution sectors is a plus.
- Formal certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or related operations management frameworks is a plus.
