About the Role

Fanatics is seeking full-time Applied AI Engineers to join a senior team focused on transforming the company through AI. This role involves embedding within business functions to identify and automate bottlenecks using AI agents and workflows, driving adoption, and owning problems end-to-end. The position offers significant autonomy, executive visibility, and direct access to leadership, reporting jointly to the CFO and Corporate AI Transformation Lead. Ideal candidates have prior experience in applied AI at fast-growing companies and are ready to bring a rapid pace to a global brand.

Responsibilities

  • Embed within corporate functions to identify and fix workflows where AI can reduce manual effort or drive growth.
  • Design, build, and deploy production-grade agents and agentic workflows using frontier models and the modern agent stack.
  • Take high-impact use cases from concept to working solution within weeks, demonstrating measurable results.
  • Solve problems by selecting the most appropriate tool, whether a custom agent or an existing configuration.
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure accountability for outcomes and guide them in adopting AI-first operational approaches.
  • Evaluate the automation potential of problems, define success metrics, and measure ROI.
  • Contribute to setting AI standards across the company, including tool evaluation, security coordination, governance, and best practices.
  • Document and share successes, coach colleagues, and foster a company culture that prioritizes automation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in applied AI or software engineering, including shipping AI-powered products or automations at a startup or fast-growing company.
  • Proven track record of building and deploying custom agents or agentic workflows with frontier LLMs to solve real business problems.
  • Fluency with the modern AI stack, including LLM APIs, MCP, agent frameworks, prompt engineering, RAG, and evaluation methods.
  • Strong coding skills, preferably in Python, with the ability to choose the right tool for the job (including buying or configuring).
  • Comfort operating independently in ambiguous environments with a focus on speed, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Strategic mindset combined with a 'get it done' attitude, distinguishing between demos and business outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of building trust and driving change with senior leaders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with sports, collectibles, or fandom culture is a plus.
