About the Role
Mesh connects over 300 exchanges and wallets to companies like PayPal, Revolut, and Kalshi, enabling seamless crypto and money movement for users. As Head of Off-Chain Engineering, you will be responsible for exchange and fiat integrations, setting strategy, building the team, and ensuring reliability as a competitive advantage.
Responsibilities
- Own off-chain engineering across Exchanges (US/EU) and Fiat (India), including reliability, velocity, roadmap, and team management.
- Define and present the off-chain strategy to the executive team, translating it into clear charters, metrics, and plans.
- Remain hands-on by reviewing designs, analyzing code, and leading during major incidents.
- Define and achieve Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for connection and transfer success across global exchanges.
- Develop the integration platform, observability tools, and testing frameworks to facilitate rapid addition of new exchanges and prevent issues with existing ones.
- Hire, develop, and lead managers and engineers across different time zones.
- Build direct technical relationships with exchange and payments partners.
- Collaborate with Product, Partnerships, and Customer Success teams to prioritize client impact.
Requirements
- 12+ years of engineering experience, with several years in a Director-level role or above, leading multiple teams and managers.
- Deep understanding of crypto and payments, with experience building or managing exchange, brokerage, custody, or payments systems handling real money.
- Highly technical and hands-on, capable of designing for third-party failure and collaborating deeply with senior engineers.
- Comfortable in design reviews and presenting strategy and trade-offs to executive teams or boards.
- Proven ability to lead teams with operational rigor, utilizing metrics, on-call rotations, and postmortems.
- AI-native with a demonstrated track record of leveraging AI to transform team building processes.
- Experience at a crypto exchange, payments processor, trading firm, or fintech aggregator is a plus.
