About the Role
MUFG Investor Services seeks an experienced senior lawyer for a 12-month fixed-term contract in the London office. The role involves advising the business on legal matters, risk management, and maintaining commercial strategies within a global legal team.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of vendor agreements across global jurisdictions.
- Identify, assess, and escalate contractual risks in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide legal and regulatory guidance on commercial contracts across key MUFG jurisdictions.
- Advise on regulatory frameworks impacting third-party vendor arrangements, including outsourcing and operational resilience requirements.
- Support contract remediation, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of regulatory developments.
- Manage vendor contracting matters throughout the full contract lifecycle.
- Gather and assess information, advise on appropriate legal approaches, and manage timelines.
- Coordinate input from business teams and external counsel where required.
- Work closely with Vendor Management, Procurement, and Legal teams to enhance contracting processes.
- Facilitate approvals, secure stakeholder sign-off, and provide final legal review and guidance.
- Serve as a trusted legal advisor to operational teams, control and support functions, client-facing teams, senior management, and governance committees.
- Provide pragmatic advice on legal, regulatory, and contractual matters impacting vendor relationships and business operations.
- Leverage a strong understanding of the financial services environment to assess legal and regulatory risks.
- Support business initiatives and provide commercially sound legal advice aligned with industry requirements.
- Support strategic and regulatory projects that impact vendor relationships, third-party risk management, and contractual frameworks.
- Contribute legal expertise to business transformation, remediation, and governance initiatives.
- Undertake other ad hoc legal matters, projects, and responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Qualified English solicitor with at least 5-10 years PQE.
- Must be admitted to the Law Society of England and Wales and be in good standing.
