About the Role
We are seeking a highly hands-on and technical Product Manager to lead the building and scaling of our next-generation payments platform. This role requires deep technical depth, platform-level strategic thinking, and a resourceful, bias-for-action mindset to build the payments platform that powers multiple Félix products, while improving conversion, authorization rates, and unit economics. You will own our payment orchestration layer and its ecosystem, acting as a doer who works closely with engineering to build sophisticated real-time systems while owning critical business metrics.
Responsibilities
- Define & Execute Payments Product Strategy: Develop and own the payments roadmap, focused on unifying processors, banking partners, and payment methods into a single, scalable orchestration platform for pay-ins, routing, and settlement.
- Own the Payment Orchestrator: Drive the evolution of our in-house orchestrator and its rules engine, balancing authorization rates, cost per transaction, and reliability. Own reconciliation and settlement health.
- Hands-On Data Analysis & Experimentation: Own payment metrics, navigate dashboards, run SQL queries to validate hypotheses, and partner with Data Analysts and Engineers to drive improvements.
- Expand Payment Methods & Rails: Design, build, and launch payment methods and integrations across cards, wallets, ACH, cash, and additional processors and settlement banks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Finance, and Operations to develop scalable solutions.
- Fraud Coordination: Monitor fraud performance by payment method and supply data for fraud checkpoints.
- Partner & BD Coordination: Partner with Business Development on processor and banking partner negotiations.
- Stakeholder & Partner Management: Communicate payments strategy and impact to executive leadership, and manage relationships with external partners.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on payments, ideally in a fast-paced startup or growth environment where you were a primary builder.
- Proven technical fluency & resourcefulness, including working with engineering teams on API-based payments solutions, running simple SQL queries, and understanding data pipelines and system resilience.
- Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem (payment orchestration, processors/PSPs, acquiring and banking partners, card networks, authorization and settlement flows, tokenization, and reconciliation), or a track record of rapidly acquiring deep domain knowledge.
- Experience owning payment performance metrics (authorization rate, conversion, processing cost, GMV) and using them to drive product improvements.
- Experience working with payment processors and orchestration, and familiarity with alternative rails (ACH, BNPL, wallets, stablecoins) is a strong plus.
- Strong ownership and a bias towards action; comfortable working hands-on rather than delegating.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, especially with fraud, finance, compliance, and exec teams, as well as external partners.
- Passion for fintech and digital finance innovation.
- Equivalent competencies in the above will also be considered.
