About the Role
Captain Cook Cruises, The Jackson, and the Starship Group are seeking a skilled Cook to prepare high-quality dishes in a dynamic setting with stunning views. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a moving kitchen, serving guests experiencing Sydney Harbour for the first time, demanding a higher standard of execution and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items to specification, ensuring consistency and presentation.
- Manage assigned section confidently during service, collaborating with the Chef and galley team.
- Handle proteins, sauces, and sides with precision and speed.
- Monitor stock levels and quality, identifying needs for ordering or rotation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workspace during service and pack-down.
- Support menu execution for various cruise formats, including set lunches and large functions.
Requirements
- Solid cooking fundamentals, including clean knife work and sound technique.
- Ability to remain composed and organized during busy service periods.
- Clear communication skills with team members.
- Pride in one's work section and presented dishes.
- Commitment to food safety and hygiene.
- Steady, positive energy and a collaborative attitude.
- Ability to identify good food and a commitment to not cutting corners.
- Appetite for continuous growth and learning.
- Willingness to undergo a National Criminal History Check.
