About the Role
Join LEAP, part of ATI Global, a leading LegalTech group, to build AI-powered applications for law firms. Your role is to provide product teams with essential tooling, automated guardrails, and AI assistants, enabling them to focus on product development. This is an opportunity for engineers who excel at architectural thinking, enjoy automating complex tasks, and wish to influence AI adoption across a business.
Responsibilities
- Build the platform architecture, turning a defined target architecture into working shared services including build and deployment pipelines, environments, secrets management, an LLM gateway, and observability.
- Design and implement a "paved road" that prioritizes secure and compliant application development and shipping.
- Own and evolve architecture decisions, ensuring clear documentation.
- Automate release gates within CI/CD pipelines, incorporating security scanning (SAST, dependency, secrets, IaC), SBOMs, and policy-as-code to prevent non-compliant deployments.
- Automate evidence collection for visible release readiness, flagging failing or stale evidence.
- Develop dashboards for leadership to monitor application status and identify exceptions.
- Build AI agents and bots to accelerate the development cycle, including automated code and security reviews, release readiness checks, documentation, and developer self-service.
- Reduce friction by enabling engineers to obtain environments, keys, access, and answers without delays.
- Contribute to building an AI governance framework to track AI usage, purpose, and cost across products and internal operations.
- Route model usage through a governed LLM gateway with model allow-listing, cost attribution, and usage telemetry.
- Drive the adoption of AI coding tools and agents across engineering and the wider business, optimizing value and cost.
- Develop integrations connecting product teams to platform APIs, internal services, and external AI providers.
- Collaborate with product teams, security, DevOps, legal, quality, and product leaders to establish standards and implement systems.
- Drive framework adoption, initially within application teams and then across the business.
- Conduct workshops, create documentation, and enable others through influence.
Requirements
- An engineer who thinks like an architect and delivers like a builder.
- Ability to see the whole system, automate tasks performed more than once, and improve team workflows.
- Pragmatic architect who designs for reality and ships working increments.
- Automation-first mindset, questioning if a machine can perform tasks currently done by humans.
- Connector comfortable working across multiple teams and building consensus.
- AI-native individual who uses AI tools daily and has strong opinions on their effective and cost-efficient use.
- Clear communicator capable of explaining trade-offs to both engineers and executives.
- Security-minded approach, building controls into systems rather than adding them later.
- If you meet some, but not all, of the requirements, we encourage you to apply.
