About the Role
Design at Airwallex sits close to the centre of the product, offering designers the opportunity for impact. You will work side by side with product and engineering from day one, challenging the brief and shaping the solution to deliver the best outcomes for our customers. Responsibilities
- Define and drive product design vision for your area, from first sketch to shipped product, in partnership with product and engineering.
- Collaborate with product managers to scope design requirements, and build lean project plans that leave room for research, exploration, and testing.
- Research, understand, and advocate for user needs at every stage of product development, translating complex financial workflows into approachable experiences.
- Lead end-to-end design across desktop, mobile web, and native app experiences, working closely with engineers through critical moments of the process and a smooth handoff.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including the design system team, to explore and deliver solutions that hold together as a system.
- Build deep domain knowledge to see the big picture and connect the work happening across your team.
- Contribute to product strategy, roadmap, and customer validation.
- Help shape the design culture and principles of the team.
Requirements
- 7+ years as a UX/product designer.
- Expertise across desktop web, mobile web, and native app experiences.
- Strong work demonstrating complex systems, multi-channel user journeys, and intricate object relationships.
- Proficient in UX methods (generative research, information architecture, interaction design, user testing).
- Comfortable thinking in systems.
- Ability to articulate design rationale clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of leading projects end to end in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
