About the Role
An opportunity exists for a VP level candidate to join Morgan Stanley's highly rated Australia Mining Research team, reporting to the Head of Australia Materials Research. The role will involve covering and co-covering stocks in the gold and base metals space, along with supporting the broader team's research materials for other commodities and the sector.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain financial models on ASX listed miners by leveraging skills in Mining, Accounting, Finance, and Economics.
- Cover and co-cover stocks in the gold and base metals space, supporting broader team research materials for other commodities and the sector.
- Research, analyze data, and write reports on companies in the mining space.
- Respond to and initiate contact with internal and external clients to market published research and requests.
- Assist with broader team requirements and materials during sprint periods, including reporting and marketing.
- Collaborate with domestic, regional, and global colleagues on research projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience gained either in a similar role or as a combination of operational (mining) and financial (in a similar role) experience.
- Ability to work in small teams with a strong focus on coordination, collaboration, and teamwork.
- Ability to construct financial models and work with large data sets to identify financial relationships and draw investment conclusions.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and hard-working, with a willingness to work independently, meet deadlines, and take responsibility for outcomes.
