About the Role
Legal Associate positions at CPG are available on a full-time basis to rising third-year law students. Our 2027 Summer Legal Associate program runs for ten to eight weeks (depending on student's schedule) from May 2027 through July 2027. Legal Associates will work with CPG’s attorneys and be exposed to a wide range of legal disciplines including pensions and health benefits, insurance, private investments and funds contracts, labor and employment, technology, cybersecurity, consulting and other contracts and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assist and provide support to attorneys on a variety of legal matters
- Research laws, regulations and cases
- Review and assist in drafting a variety of contracts, policies and other legal documents
- Participate in discussions with in-house and outside counsel
- Other legal support for the Legal Department as needed
Requirements
- Applicants must currently be a student at an accredited law school program and in the top 25% of their 1L/2L class
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well with a team in a fast-paced environment
- Multitasker with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Self-motivated, imaginative and versatile
- Computer proficiency
- Prior coursework in insurance law, technology law, employee benefits law, privacy law and/or coursework in contract law strongly preferred
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
