About the Role
Seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to develop engineering design solutions for building projects, analyzing design intent to produce efficient technical solutions. This role involves collaborating with other disciplines and coordinating designs through all project phases, utilizing knowledge of building systems, materials, codes, and construction technologies.
Responsibilities
- Designing components of the overall building, integrating architectural design and adhering to applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements.
- Evaluating engineering design requirements and creating drawings to support construction projects.
- Performing engineering activities such as calculations, code research, material and building systems research, laying out components, and calculation of program and building areas.
- Evaluating site conditions, including zoning requirements and site constraints, and performing site surveys and field reviews to document existing and new construction conditions.
- Synthesizing, interpreting, and coordinating technical information to write engineering specifications for Project Manuals.
- Reviewing project products, services, and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes, and corporate quality controls.
Requirements
- Successfully completed related post-secondary education.
- Proficient in Engineering software skills, including AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and electrical engineering systems design software.
- Engineering knowledge related to building electrical systems and multiple building types.
- Familiarity with architectural design concepts and building codes is required.
- Registered with a relevant professional engineering association.
- 10+ years of project work experience.
- Experience in electrical engineering buildings systems.
