About the Role
We are seeking a Structural Designer to collaborate with engineering teams on building projects. The role involves developing design solutions, analyzing design intent, and producing technical designs. You will coordinate designs across all project phases, utilizing knowledge of building engineering systems, materials, codes, and construction technologies.
Responsibilities
- Designing components of the overall building, integrating architectural design and adhering to applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements.
- Evaluating engineering design requirements and creating drawings to support construction projects.
- Performing engineering activities such as calculations, code research, material and building systems research, laying out components, and calculation of program and building areas.
- Evaluating site conditions, including zoning requirements and site constraints, and performing site surveys and field reviews to accurately document existing and new construction conditions.
- Synthesizing, interpreting, and coordinating technical information to write engineering specifications for Project Manuals.
- Reviewing project products, services, and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes, and corporate quality controls.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain secret security clearance is required.
- 1-4 years of project work experience.
- Experience in structural engineering buildings systems.
Skills
- Proficiency in Engineering software skills, including AutoCAD, Revit MEP, as well as structural engineering systems design software.
- Engineering knowledge related to building structural systems and multiple building types.
- Familiarity with architectural design concepts and building codes is required.
Experience Level
- 1-4 years of project work experience
Education Level
- Successfully completed related post-secondary education
- Registered with a relevant professional engineering association would be an asset
Salary/Compensations
- $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 annually
