About the Role

Gallagher is seeking a talented Legal Counsel with High Court commercial litigation experience to join our dynamic legal team. You will provide expert legal advice and strategic solutions in contentious matters, particularly employee competition litigation, guiding UK and EMEA businesses and helping them make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

Provide legal and tactical advice and guidance on a range of contentious matters with particular focus on restrictive covenants and employment contractual obligations.
Manage a range of litigation and pre-action dispute resolution, particularly in the field of employee competition.
Work with our business to identify and understand the facts, issues and risks.
Draft correspondence to send to opposing parties and their legal representatives.
Instruct and oversee the use of outside counsel, when appropriate.
Assist with preparation of management reports for Gallagher’s Boards and senior management.
Exercise proportionate and commercial judgement.
Provide accurate and practical advice reflecting English law, but also guidance on matters involving other legal systems.
Assist in enhancing processes to mitigate risk and deliver training sessions to the business on a range of topic areas.
Build and maintain excellent relationships with Gallagher’s businesses and senior management.

Requirements

Qualified solicitor with sound technical knowledge and experience of High Court (England & Wales) litigation and dispute resolution.
Experience of dealing with litigation and/or pre-action correspondence relating to restrictive covenants and team move disputes.
Knowledge of the insurance industry is helpful but not essential.
Proven drafting, analytical and communication skills with the ability to distill complex issues into clear, actionable advice.
Ability to develop excellent working relationships and inspire the trust of senior stakeholders.
Right to work in the UK.
