About the Role
Gallagher Bassett Canada is seeking a Senior Claims Adjuster to investigate, evaluate, disposition, and settle claims, including general liability, product liability, first-party property damage, auto, and third-party auto claims.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, disposition, and settle claims.
- Handle general liability claims, product liability claims, first-party property damage, auto, and third-party auto claims.
- Negotiate with solicitors and directly with parties to resolve claims within granted authority.
- Analyze relevant policies to determine coverage.
- Identify allegations and assess coverage to determine applicability to the claim.
- Handle claims consistent with client and corporate policies, procedures, and best practices, adhering to statutory, regulatory, and ethics requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma and 5 years of related claims experience.
- CIP completion, or C11, C12, C14, C110 minimum and in progress with minimum courses for licensing.
- Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all provinces in which claims are being handled or able to obtain the licenses/certification per local requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices.
- Computer experience with related claims and business software.
- Ability to think critically, solve problems, plan and organize activities, serve clients, negotiate, effectively communicate verbally and in writing, and embrace new challenges.
- Analytical skill necessary to make decisions and resolve complex issues inherent in handling losses.
- Ability to successfully negotiate the settlement and disposition of serious claims, including the ability to interpret related documentation.
