About the Role
Deutsche Telekom Tiefbau GmbH aims to provide fiber optic connections to all households in Germany by 2030 and is expanding its civil engineering capacities to accelerate fiber optic expansion from the street to the customer's home. This role offers an entry-level opportunity to contribute to bringing high-speed internet to homes.
Responsibilities
- Perform civil engineering and surface work on private properties and public roads, including installing fiber optic house connections (machine and manual excavation).
- Operate modern civil engineering equipment and machinery to create trenches for pipe and cable laying, and construction pits.
- Conduct paving and asphalt work, including breaking up and restoring surfaces.
- Install cable pipes and SpeedNet pipe bundles.
- Create and seal structural penetrations.
- Measure utility and house connection lines.
Requirements
- Completed vocational training as a civil engineering worker, road builder, gardener and landscaper, or similar qualification.
- Ideally, further training as a construction machinery operator.
- Familiarity with civil engineering work in pipe and cable laying.
- Proficient in operating construction machinery (excavators, vibratory rollers, and pipe-laying machines).
- Knowledge of construction site safety in public traffic areas (RSA21/MVAS99 and DIN4124).
- Willingness for flexible regional and supra-regional deployment.
- Possession of a Class BE driver's license (car with trailer).
