About the Role

Responsibilities
- Capture information from multiple sources and apply company guidelines to support underwriting.
- Review individual risks for acceptability and handle those within established authority.
- Complete assigned underwriting transactions and tasks within service standards.
- Analyze and review CPA and company financial statements, inputting data into the surety system.
- Determine necessary steps to process work, deciding to accept, reject, or modify based on authority.
- Consult with agents and internal partners, recommending business development and service opportunities.
- Enter policies and run reports for the underwriting file.
- Cooperate and build strong working relationships with territory, field, claims, sales, and other associates to share and gather information.
Requirements
- Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Insurance, Economics, or a related field.
- Completion of junior year is preferred.
- Involvement in student activities and/or some work experience.
- Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program.
- Nationwide determines whether to offer sponsorship for qualifying positions based on business need and budget; sponsorship is not usually available for entry-level roles.
