About the Role
The Baillie Group's Owego, NY facility is hiring for a Material Handler / General Laborer. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity with a world-class hardwood lumber manufacturer.
Responsibilities
- Build bundles of lumber, ensuring they are square and meet quality standards.
- Finish bundles with a top layer and prepare them for forklift removal.
- Identify and handle lumber pieces, ensuring edges are free of defects.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Able to lift 50+ lbs continuously.
- Ability to stand for long periods, bend, and stoop.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task.
Skills
- Previous experience as a warehouse worker preferred.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to read a measuring tape, calipers, and digital indicators.
