About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and competent Chef to oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality dishes and managing the kitchen's budget. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Oversee kitchen operations, including food prep, cooking, and cleanup
- Manage kitchen staff by delegating tasks
- Hire and train all kitchen staff members
- Ensure all kitchen staff adhere to food safety and hygiene guidelines
- Create menus that appeal to customers, including special seasonal menus
- Work alongside restaurant management to price menu items
- Provide feedback on food preparation and presentation
- Inspect food items to ensure quality
- Monitor inventory and workshop ways to reduce food spoilage
- Inspect and maintain kitchen equipment, scheduling repairs when required
- Collaborate with restaurant management to ensure goals are being met
Requirements
- 2+ years experience as a Chef
- Licensure from the FDA as applicable
- Excellent multitasking, communication, and organizational skills
- Superb attention to detail
- Strong creativity when creating menus
- Budget management skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
