About the Role

We are looking for a delivery-focused Project Manager to independently manage business change projects and deliver clear, sustainable outcomes. You will bring structure, control, and momentum to delivery through disciplined planning, effective governance, sound financial management, and proactive oversight of scope, risks, issues, and dependencies. Working closely with sponsors, stakeholders, and delivery teams, you will create clarity, support timely decisions, and ensure business readiness, adoption, and benefits remain central throughout the project lifecycle. As part of our Project Management Practice, you will contribute to a culture of delivery excellence, consistency, and continuous improvement, while sharing knowledge and strengthening your own capability as a project professional.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Business Change projects
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of assigned business change projects, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, outcomes, milestones, budget, controls, dependencies, readiness, and benefits.
  • Own project budget management, including forecasting, tracking actuals, managing variances, identifying financial risks, and working with Finance to support business cases and budget reporting.
  • Manage formal scope, schedule, and cost change control, including impact assessment across cost, time, scope, benefits, risks, and resources, securing sponsor approval and maintaining updated baselines and documentation.
  • Own and maintain core project controls, including delivery plans, RAID logs, decision logs, stage gates, approvals, governance materials, project reporting, and audit trails, ensuring compliance with agreed governance and minimum PMO standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and manage project resource needs, SME commitments, and capacity constraints, escalating resource risks where required to protect delivery outcomes.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating when needed and driving practical solutions to maintain delivery momentum.
  • Own and plan business readiness so change is embedded effectively, ensuring communications, stakeholder engagement, training, bite-size learning materials, hyper care, and post-go-live support are built into the delivery plan and budget, with adoption measures used to track whether the change has landed successfully.
  • Build trusted, collaborative relationships with project sponsors, business stakeholders, SMEs, and internal and external delivery teams, including strong working partnerships.
  • Prepare clear sponsor and Steering Committee packs, concise status reports, decision papers, recommendations, and escalation summaries that set out progress, risks, issues, decisions required, options, and recommended actions.
  • Constructively challenge sponsors and stakeholders where needed, helping to drive decisions, resolve blockers, and maintain delivery momentum.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently, tailoring messages for different audiences to support confidence, transparency, and informed decision-making.
  • Facilitate project meetings, decision-making forums, and governance discussions to maintain alignment, accountability, and momentum.
  • Create a positive, collaborative, and delivery-focused environment across project teams.
  • Bring structure, energy, and focus to cross-functional delivery, helping teams stay aligned on priorities, decisions, and outcomes.
  • Lead teams through change by creating clarity, encouraging accountability, and building shared ownership of delivery and adoption outcomes.
  • Work with business stakeholders, SMEs, and delivery partners to ensure readiness, engagement, training, hyper care, and post-go-live support are understood, planned, and actively managed.
  • Support stakeholders in defining adoption measures and benefits tracking, ensuring change is embedded sustainably after implementation and lessons learned are captured.
  • Actively contribute to the Project Management Practice by sharing lessons learned, supporting peers, and promoting best practice.
  • Use agreed PM standards, tools, and governance processes consistently.
  • Bring curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset to how projects are delivered.
  • Contribute to a learning culture by sharing experience, feedback, and ideas.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering business change projects within a regulated or controlled environment.
  • Strong project management discipline across planning, governance, RAID management, reporting, budgeting, and change control.
  • Ability to operate independently, manage ambiguity, and maintain delivery momentum under pressure.
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams and managing delivery dependencies.
  • Ability to engage and constructively challenge sponsors and stakeholders to support timely decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear governance reporting and decision materials.
  • Understanding of business readiness, stakeholder engagement, adoption, benefits tracking, and lessons learned.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills across business and delivery teams.
  • Working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery approaches.
  • A proactive, resilient, and collaborative approach, with commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
  • Experience within insurance, reinsurance, or regulated financial services (Desirable).
  • Exposure to insurance or reinsurance business functions such as underwriting, claims, finance, operations, compliance, data, technology, or regulatory change (Desirable).
  • Understanding of how change impacts end-to-end business workflows in a regulated financial services environment (Desirable).
