About the Role
Charter Oak Federal Credit Union is seeking a Float Bilingual Chinese Speaking Member Service Representative to build member relationships by providing outstanding service. The role requires the ability to interpret and conduct transactions in both Chinese and English, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Greet members and determine their needs, referring them to the appropriate department.
- Communicate with members to identify their deposit and loan needs.
- Explain and cross-sell credit union services using APEX tools.
- Perform clerical functions for deposits, loans, and other credit union products.
- Assist members with account research, balancing, and reconciliation.
- Exercise judgment in servicing accounts, including approving accounts and waiving fees.
- Maintain knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations regarding credit union products.
- Present a professional image through attire, mannerisms, and workstation.
- Provide suggestions for service improvement, cost control, and promotional activities.
- Perform Loan Originator duties under Regulation Z, including taking applications.
- Oversee security procedures in the safe deposit department.
- Provide teller backup as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to provide interpretation assistance for members in Chinese and English.
- Ability to conduct transactions in Chinese and English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous sales experience.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Working knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations regarding credit union products (e.g., IRA's, lending, demand deposit, second mortgages).
