About the Role

Launch Potato is seeking a Lead BI Developer to own the reporting infrastructure for their Credit Cards, Make Money/Manage Money, Banking, and Marketplace verticals. This role offers a growth path into becoming a proactive analytical partner, helping the team anticipate future trends. You will be embedded with business teams, partnering closely with Yield, Paid Media, and Account Management to uncover trends, analyze experiments, and challenge existing assumptions with data-driven insights. The focus is on impact and ensuring the work is used, understood, and acted upon.

Responsibilities

  • Own the reporting infrastructure that powers decision-making across specified verticals.
  • Partner closely with Yield, Paid Media, and Account Management teams.
  • Uncover meaningful trends, conduct retrospective analyses across experiments, creatives, offers, seasonality, and CAC performance.
  • Challenge the team with insights they aren't currently seeing.
  • Audit existing reporting to identify discrepancies, redundancies, and inconsistencies.
  • Develop a roadmap to standardize reporting across verticals.
  • Articulate how assigned verticals make money and identify key performance levers.
  • Improve dashboard standardization.
  • Execute on ad hoc requests with accuracy and business context.
  • Develop trusted data sources to improve data consumption efficiency.
  • Build relationships with Yield, Paid Media, and Account Management teams.
  • Enable confident self-service analytics through a standardized reporting suite.
  • Deliver proactive retrospective analyses.
  • Act as a trusted technical owner from raw data ingestion through final dashboard.
  • Recommend action based on findings, not just report them.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years in business intelligence or analytics with direct exposure to performance or affiliate marketing.
  • Experience owning reporting end-to-end, from pipeline to dashboard.
  • Experience working with messy, complex, third-party data.
  • Experience partnering closely with business teams to uncover meaningful trends, conduct retrospective analyses, and connect data work to decisions.
  • Extracts accurate insights from raw, unstructured data without relying on clean models.
  • Builds, standardizes, and drives adoption of reporting, increasing data literacy.
  • Connects data directly to levers that move the business (e.g., campaign performance, conversion rates, revenue per session).
  • Architects complex models with full understanding of downstream impacts.
  • Asks questions first; driven to grow business knowledge to become a trusted analytical partner.
  • Traces discrepancies to the source before drawing conclusions.
  • Engages stakeholders to understand how reporting is used before building.
  • Invests in understanding the business by asking the right questions before pulling data.
  • Asks enough upfront to ensure the answer lands with the right context for the right audience.
  • Surfaces problems early, engages before being asked, and drives work forward with a clear point of view.
  • Builds trust by asking genuine questions and showing care for stakeholder needs.
