About the Role

AIUC is building standards and insurance for frontier AI, aiming to underwrite superintelligence. This role is critical as AI agents handle sensitive data and run real infrastructure, facing significant risks without established defenses. You will be the first security hire, owning security end-to-end across product, evaluation platform, and internal systems, working directly with founders to solve unprecedented agent security problems and define the future of agent security.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure product security for enterprise customers.
  • Build secure foundations for agent operation, including sandboxing, credential access, and core development.
  • Own company-wide security, covering network, vendors, access, data, and customer security reviews.
  • Proactively address emerging risks from new products and attack classes.
  • Respond rapidly to incidents and resolve issues before they escalate.
  • Integrate learnings into AIUC-1 and share insights with the CISO consortium through sessions and publications.

Requirements

  • Experience as a founding security hire at a technical or regulated-industry company, building a security program from scratch.
  • Experience as a core engineer at a security company where security was the product.
  • Proven ability to build production systems and meet engineering standards.
  • Hands-on experience in cloud and infrastructure security, including IAM, SSO, dev/prod separation, KMS, secrets management, secure databases, user management, and identity systems.
  • Experience building agent harnesses and implementing containment measures like sandboxing, tool permissions, credential isolation, and data-leak controls.
  • Ability to own outcomes end-to-end and assertively say no while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Experience building detection, logging, and incident response capabilities.
  • Experience securing the corporate surface, including SSO, devices, and SaaS.
  • Proficiency in security as code, including reviewing infrastructure changes in Terraform and automating controls.
  • Experience turning security research into production engineering, including reproducing attacks and shipping defenses.
  • Deep architecture experience across distributed systems, ML pipelines, or large-scale platforms.
  • Willingness to learn from enterprise security teams, CISO consortiums, and customers about evolving agent environments.

About the Company

  • AIUC builds standards and insurance for frontier AI, with the mission to underwrite superintelligence.
  • We believe risk, not capability, is the binding constraint on AI usefulness.
  • We are building trust in AI, similar to how Underwriters Laboratories (UL) created trust in electricity.
  • AIUC-1 is our standard for agent security, used by frontier builders like Cursor, Lovable, ElevenLabs, and Harvey.
  • We have raised $55m from Ribbit, First Harmonic, and Nat Friedman.
  • Our team comprises individuals from METR, Anthropic, McKinsey, and OpenAI.
  • Our values are: Strong back (high standards, keep promises, work hard), Fast feet (experiment, cut scope, delight in pace), Eyes up (wrestle with the mission, let AI's direction shape strategy), and Open heart (say the scary thing, create connection, make room for emotions).
