About the Role
SageOx is seeking a T-shaped designer to partner with the Founding Designer. This role involves designing and building across various surfaces including product interfaces, conference room screens, and hardware. The ideal candidate will have exceptional skills in one area and be proficient in others, with a strong ability to push the company's vision for user experience.
Responsibilities

- Write production code for designs.
- Design user experiences for memory recall and ambient coordination.
- Design the learning curve and user onboarding for human-AI collaboration.
- Design for conference room screens, including live conversations and dynamic murals.
- Design for hardware with minimal screens, focusing on presence, light, and sound.
- Design packaging, unboxing, and initial setup experiences for hardware.
- Design future products and devices, establishing patterns across them.
- Own and develop the design system, including components, tokens, and patterns in code.
- Ensure accessibility is built into the design system.
- Make design system elements readable by AI coworkers.
- Identify and fix gaps in the design system based on AI coworker errors.
- Develop automated checks for design rules to prevent drift.
- Transform parts of the design harness into customer-facing agentic tools.
- Talk to users and use SageOx daily.
- Participate in design critiques and provide feedback.
Requirements
- 5+ years in product design, design engineering, industrial design, design systems, or front-end engineering.
- Demonstrated T-shaped design skills with a specific area of exceptional expertise.
- Experience building things end-to-end, not just designing them.
- Proficiency in AI tools and workflows (e.g., Claude Code, Claude Design).
- Experience building AI coworker tools (e.g., skills, lint rules, generators).
- Technical fluency and comfort in a codebase and terminal.
- Ability to balance speed with taste, focusing on editing and systematizing.
- Curiosity about underlying technical and design principles.
- Ownership mentality with low ego.
