About the Role
As a Senior Data Analyst focused on financial reporting at Circle, you will collaborate with product, treasury, finance, and accounting teams to ensure regulatory compliance and enhance the clarity of key financial information. You will derive insights from data to guide teams in addressing critical financial challenges, supporting Circle's mission to be a data-driven, world-class company.
Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand product impacts on reporting duties and collaborate on data requirements, models, business logic, and reporting layers for regulatory compliance.
- Develop a deep understanding of financial and accounting processes, partnering with teams to ensure transparency.
- Build frameworks and systems to identify and resolve issues, designing solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Develop scalable automated solutions using SQL, Superset, reporting tools, scripting languages, and AI.
- Present results to diverse audiences to educate them on engineering and financial systems.
- Collaborate with accounting and treasury to address data challenges arising from new opportunities and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative major (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering)
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language, such as R or Python, for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
- Experience with bank reporting, business banking, financial services, or other similar industries.
- Strong communication skills to explain system functionality to non-technical audiences and regulators.
- Strong collaboration skills to align product, product engineering, data engineering, finance, accounting, and treasury on reporting and requirements.
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability for triaging, investigating, and resolving issues, keeping cross-functional partners informed.
