About the Role
Develops, deploys, and maintains ML models to enhance the digital customer experience across Floor & Decor's online platforms and omnichannel tools. Focuses on personalization, recommendations, search, product enrichment, and customer intent signals, advancing models from development through production and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain recommendation models across site and app.
- Develop session-based models to infer shopper intent.
- Rank content, offers, and modules across various pages and the app.
- Contribute to product search improvements.
- Apply LLMs and embeddings to enrich product attributes.
- Produce digital propensity and intent scores.
- Contribute to shared ML assets.
- Implement personalization, search, and recommendations for the PRO app.
- Deploy and operate models on Databricks, monitoring performance and retraining as needed.
- Partner with Data Engineering, Product, and Engineering on data tracking.
- Design and analyze A/B tests for model-driven features.
- Communicate results, tradeoffs, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation and participate in code reviews.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in data science.
- Ensure compliance with Privacy Preferences, Responsible AI, and Security protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in data science or machine learning, with at least one model deployed to production.
- Experience building machine learning for live, customer-facing digital products in e-commerce or similar environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, writing clean, tested, production-ready code.
- Solid foundation in machine learning, including classification, ranking, and recommendation approaches.
- Familiarity with ML lifecycle practices, including automated pipelines, deployment, and monitoring.
- Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools.
