About the Role

We are a busy, warm family based in Midtown Manhattan with three young children seeking a proactive, dependable, and highly organized Household Manager with Childcare Support. This role is about adding operational support to keep things moving smoothly within our active household and existing support team. You will anticipate needs, follow through with initiative, and enjoy contributing to a well-run home. Experience supporting logistics for multiple properties is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide school pickups and drop-offs, including transportation to after-school activities and appointments.
  • Provide light supervision oversight and a calm, supportive presence during non-school hours.
  • Reinforce after-school and household routines, maintain tidy bedrooms and kitchens, organize school communications and parent updates, and prepare children’s bags for the next day and activities.
  • Provide light backup childcare support and assist with coordination around family outings and activities or unusual schedule adjustments.
  • Prioritize children’s care and safety when primary caregivers are not available or you’re alone with the children, postponing household tasks as needed.
  • Perform daily resets and light tidying between scheduled cleaning days.
  • Perform a monthly declutter of toys by organizing and inventorying items, storing unused toys, identifying incomplete sets, discarding broken toys, and noting items for replacement.
  • Track household inventory — pantry, fridge, baby supplies — and flag or obtain items running low.
  • Manage incoming packages by retrieving, opening, and sorting deliveries to the appropriate areas of the home.
  • Collaborate with nanny for clothing organization across children of different sizes: hand-me-down rotation, storage, and donation prep.
  • Clean and maintain humidifiers, vacuums, cleaning supplies and air purifiers.
  • Coordinate repairs, deliveries, set up and maintenance with building staff or outside vendors for both properties.
  • Support 1–2 seasonal deep cleans per year (closets, storage areas, linen organization).
  • Coordinate the sale, donation, or delivery of items the family wishes to remove, including creating listings, arranging pickups, and packaging items for delivery to friends and family.
  • Oversee occasional coordination needs at secondary home in NJ.
  • Handle grocery and specialty shopping as needed, including Trader Joe’s and local produce markets.
  • Manage Amazon and other returns, including preparing packages and coordinating drop-offs as needed.
  • Take care of ad hoc shopping, gift sourcing, and pickups for special occasions and family events.
  • Review and maintain family calendar: add events, flag items that affect parents' work schedules, and support calendar tools.
  • Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and other providers as needed.
  • Assist with laundry on an as-needed basis including folding and put laundry away.

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Candidates are required to be up to date on recommended vaccinations in line with American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, subject to applicable legal accommodations.
  • Fragrance-free or minimal-fragrance products strongly preferred.
  • This is an in-person role requiring teamwork with other providers in the home.
  • Requires a background check.
