About the Role
QQR Labs is building its first product where machine vision meets physical freight to combat freight fraud and cargo theft. As the first engineer on the product, you will own the end-to-end development, including field hardware, edge models, and the customer platform.
Responsibilities
- Build ruggedized capture hardware including industrial cameras, IR illumination, GPU compute, and weatherproof enclosures.
- Develop on-device ML for vehicle detection, classification, and OCR at highway speeds, day and night.
- Create the data platform for high-volume ingestion, entity resolution, search, and alerting.
- Implement the data engine for auto-labeling, continuous retraining, and evaluation loops.
- Develop fleet tooling for provisioning, over-the-air updates, and health monitoring of deployed hardware.
Requirements
- Shipped computer vision on real hardware in the real world, including detection, tracking, and OCR in challenging environmental conditions.
- Experience with a camera-first mindset, multi-camera perception, and vision-only stacks.
- Fluency in edge and embedded systems, including Linux on ARM, camera pipelines (GStreamer or similar), and model optimization (TensorRT, ONNX, quantization).
- Competence in cloud and data technologies, including Python, AWS or GCP, streaming ingestion, and practical MLOps.
- Ability to make hardware decisions, work without a playbook, and own outcomes.
- Experience building vision systems that operate outdoors or on vehicles at scale.

- $220,000 to $280,000 base
- 20 to 25% milestone bonus
