About the Role
As a Privacy Counsel within Apple's Legal group, you will uphold high ethical and corporate standards, defend intellectual property, and provide legal support for global products and businesses. You will work with a dynamic team on privacy issues impacting Apple's business and products, collaborating with business and engineering teams to design innovative privacy solutions and advise on regulatory matters.
Responsibilities
- Advising and providing support on privacy related topics for Apple’s various products and services.
- Working alongside legal, engineering and business teams.
- Supporting teams working on Apple’s Siri and AI efforts.
- Reporting through the Privacy Legal team’s product counseling group.
- Working closely with privacy policy colleagues.
- Helping advise the business and engineering teams on cutting-edge privacy issues.
- Providing strategic and practical advice to product, business, and engineering teams.
- Drafting and negotiating privacy related contracts.
- Advising on regulatory compliance and inquiries.
Requirements
- Knowledge of comprehensive privacy laws, and regulatory and other guidance and standards.
- Deep understanding of US state and federal sector-specific privacy laws.
- Ability to clearly organize and inform through excellent written and verbal communications.
- Experience quickly issue-spotting, analyzing, and clearly communicating privacy advice on complex legal issues.
- Strong analytical capability with attention to detail.
- 4+ years of privacy experience as an associate at a premier law firm or business.
- JD or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar.
- Ability to lead, take action, and provide direction in the face of ambiguity.
- Ability to get results in diverse, fast paced environments.
- Ability to partner at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent academic credentials.
