About the Role
K&L Wine Merchants is seeking friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Seasonal Retail Cashiers for the holiday season. This role is central to the customer experience, involving welcoming guests, processing purchases, and ensuring a positive shopping environment. The position offers exposure to a wide selection of wine and spirits in a fast-paced retail setting.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and provide friendly, attentive service
- Process purchases accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system
- Handle cash, credit cards, gift cards, and other forms of payment
- Assist customers in locating products and connect them with specialists when needed
- Verify customer identification and adhere to alcohol sales laws and company policies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area
- Support stocking, merchandising, and sales floor recovery
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment
Requirements
- Must be friendly, approachable, and enjoy helping customers
- Must be dependable, punctual, and a team player
- Must be comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced retail environment
- Must be detail-oriented and handle transactions accurately
- Must possess strong communication skills and a positive, team-first attitude
- Must be interested in wine, spirits, or specialty retail and eager to learn
- Must be available to work at least one or both weekend days per week
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
