About the Role
The Housekeeper performs routine and project-based housekeeping duties in assigned areas of Masonicare at Mystic, following instructions and established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Receive work assignments and assemble necessary cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Perform routine cleaning of common areas and resident homes, including dusting, washing walls and windows, mopping floors, vacuuming, and making beds.
- Operate mechanical vacuums and use stepladders as needed.
- Detect and report defective equipment or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Ensure the security of the housekeeping cart in resident access areas due to cleaning fluids.
- Follow safety and infection control procedures.
- Interact with residents respectfully and reassuringly, resolving complaints and concerns.
- Communicate effectively with residents, considering their age, diversity, needs, abilities, and physical condition.
- Interact positively with staff and perform duties as part of a team.
- Attend departmental meetings and inservice education programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to drive a vehicle and understand traffic regulations.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Maintain a good safety driving record.
