About the Role
Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians, primarily in security guard and related services. This role ensures access control policies are followed and client property is secured.
Responsibilities
- Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured
- Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm systems
- Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
- Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
- Maintain effective communication
- Respond to alarms and calls for assistance
- Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors
- Regular interior and exterior foot patrols
- Make sure the Security Desk is always monitored
- Able to operate a computer badging system when needed
- Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor
Requirements
- Must hold a Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate
- Be able to obtain a Level I (Reliability) Clearance - minimum 5 Years of Residency in Canada
- The ability to stand for long periods of time and complete frequent patrols
- Good understanding of computers
- Customer service/reception/administrative skills
- The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential
- Highly reliable, work well under pressure, able to work with minimal supervision, can multitask and be a professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times
