About the Role

This 12-month fixed-term contract role focuses on metrics governance and enablement. You will work with colleagues across all functions and senior stakeholders to define key measures and their ownership. The role involves building data models and reporting to bring these measures to life and support self-serve analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Support the metrics governance programme by helping stakeholders agree consistent definitions and clear ownership of key measures.
  • Build and maintain data models and dashboards end to end, from business question to a usable product.
  • Scope, build, test, and deliver dbt and SQL work, utilizing AI-assisted development and verifying output.
  • Document and test the data behind each key measure, ensuring definitions and supporting documentation are current.
  • Deliver regular business reporting with accuracy and maintain the reliability and usability of analytics tools.
  • Coach non-data specialist colleagues, explaining concepts simply and sharing best practices for data-driven actions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand priorities and translate them into clear, reliable measures and reporting.
  • Transform open-ended business problems and ad hoc questions into clear analysis and recommendations, providing progress updates.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining data models in a modern analytics stack, such as dbt, in a professional setting.
  • Strong SQL and data modelling skills, with the ability to scope, build, test, and deliver your own work.
  • Experience building dashboards and reports in a BI tool, such as Lightdash, Looker, or Tableau.
  • Comfort working with stakeholders at all levels, including senior stakeholders, asking pertinent questions, explaining clearly, and building agreement.
  • Ability to transform an open-ended business problem into clear analysis and actionable recommendations, while managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience coaching or building confidence in colleagues who are not data specialists.
  • Experience using AI tools for faster and more accurate work, with sound judgment for output verification.
