About the Role
Join Gallagher Specialty's Aerospace General Aviation team as a Claims Broker, supporting a wide range of aviation clients. You will help clients navigate the claims process from first notification through to settlement while building trusted relationships across the market. You'll work closely with insurers, loss adjusters, solicitors, and clients, gaining exposure to complex aviation risks while developing your expertise within a supportive and highly respected team.
Responsibilities
- Manage claims throughout their lifecycle, supporting clients during challenging and time-sensitive situations.
- Liaise with insurers, loss adjusters, solicitors, and other brokers to ensure claims are progressing efficiently and clients remain informed.
- Handle a varied portfolio of aviation claims and help deliver a consistent, high-quality service.
- Develop a detailed understanding of claims processes and policy coverage to explain outcomes, answer client queries, and provide practical guidance.
- Support reporting activities, management information, and renewal-related statistics.
Requirements
- Experience handling insurance claims within a broker, insurer, or delegated authority environment.
- Ability to manage claims from notification through to settlement while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Confidence communicating with clients and third parties by phone, email, and in person, including sensitive or complex discussions.
- Experience working with insurers, loss adjusters, solicitors, or other stakeholders involved in the claims process.
- Ability to explain technical information clearly and respond to client questions straightforwardly.
- Methodical approach to managing workloads, following processes, and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to identify potential risks, issues, or areas requiring escalation.
- Collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
Skills
- Aerospace or Aviation claims handling (preferred)
- Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualifications (progress towards or completion preferred)
- London Market claims and processing systems, including ECF, CLASS, IMR, and related market platforms (working knowledge preferred)
- Lloyd's and London Market claims processes and procedures (familiarity preferred)
