  • Advising on legal risk, compliance, corporate governance, company secretarial matters, data protection and sanctions.
  • Supporting employment matters, including contracts, employee relations, disputes and internal investigations.
  • Managing claims, disputes and contentious matters, while overseeing the scope, quality and cost of external legal support.
  • Monitoring relevant legal and regulatory developments and supporting internal policies, governance processes and legal training.

Requirements

  • A solicitor qualified in England and Wales, Scotland or an equivalent jurisdiction.
  • At least four years’ post-qualification experience, ideally gained through a combination of private practice and in-house roles.
  • A strong background in energy, infrastructure or construction law, including project development and commercial contracts.
  • Advanced drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to identify risk and translate legal analysis into practical commercial advice.
  • Experience advising on project structuring, delivery, disputes or claims, and complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Familiarity with standard-form construction contracts such as NEC, FIDIC, JCT or IChemE would be highly desirable.
  • Experience coordinating external advisers and managing legal scope, quality and budgets.
