About the Role

As a Principal Design Lead, you will be the senior driver across Vision Setting, AI Incubation, Craft & Systems, and End-to-End Product Quality, tackling ambiguous problems and creating momentum. This role is for a design facilitator and driver who thrives in ambiguity, brings others along, and operates at speed while raising quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Flex across Vision Setting, AI Incubation, Craft & Systems, and End-to-End Product Quality based on Studio needs.
  • Transform ambiguous ideas into concrete and high-quality outcomes independently and rapidly.
  • Facilitate design processes, engaging designers, PMs, and engineers to build shared ownership and maintain momentum.
  • Drive AI Incubation projects from inception to completion, shaping ambiguous 0-to-1 efforts.
  • Uphold and promote high craft standards, mentoring mid-level designers and resolving complex ambiguities.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to push creative boundaries within technical constraints.
  • Represent the Studio's perspective in cross-functional and platform-level discussions.
  • Utilize AI-powered prototyping tools for rapid concept validation.
  • Advocate for elevated craft and quality standards throughout the Studio.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on product design experience in enterprise, platform, or complex B2B products, with demonstrated range across multiple problem spaces.
  • Proven track record of driving ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives to successful outcomes.
  • Comfort operating at the intersection of design, product, and engineering, with strong emotional intelligence for collaboration.
  • Deep fluency with AI as a design material and designing AI-native experiences.
  • Strong facilitation skills to build alignment and create forward motion without formal authority.
  • Bias towards fast, iterative validation over slow, polished execution.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring other designers.
  • Excellent executive communication skills for presenting design thinking to senior stakeholders.
  • A portfolio showcasing range across problem types and altitudes, with evidence of facilitation and cross-functional leadership.
