About the Role

We are seeking a senior Product Designer to lead design efforts for AI-native product development tools at Instagram. This role is crucial for enabling product teams to build faster and more creatively, shaping the future of how Instagram works by setting a vision for AI tooling across the organization. You will focus on areas like prototyping agents, design review automation, and collaborative experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the end-to-end vision for scaling AI tooling from alpha to org-wide adoption.
  • Own the north star for integrating prototyping, review, memory, and collaboration systems.
  • Shape the org memory and context system, designing a central hub for canonical docs and decisions.
  • Champion craft and coherence across all tool surfaces, ensuring a polished and intuitive experience.
  • Set the quality bar for AI-generated outputs, collaborative workflows, and human-machine judgment.
  • Codify the design system and patterns to scale the tools.
  • Set the design vision and direction for new products or platforms, taking them from zero-to-one or leading reinvention.
  • Set the agenda across complex systems, identifying priorities and aligning leadership on AI capabilities, platform infrastructure, design systems, and workflows.
  • Apply AI-native product and systems thinking to design scalable information architecture, interaction models, and agent behaviors.
  • Raise the bar on craft and platform quality, delivering memorable and configurable experiences.
  • Articulate a compelling design vision to senior leadership, framing options and building alignment.
  • Act as a multiplier by mentoring designers, raising the bar on AI-native design practice, and fostering alignment.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of product design experience with demonstrated impact on platforms, tools, or developer/maker experiences at scale.
  • A portfolio showcasing end-to-end ownership of complex, multi-surface product systems, including new product creation or significant platform/tools work.
  • Deep experience with AI-powered products, design tools, developer tools, or productivity platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead design in spaces of high organizational complexity where the product is the process.
  • Experience designing for AI agents, conversational interfaces, or agentic workflows is a strong plus.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and shipping in fast-moving spaces with evolving strategy and capabilities.
  • Experience influencing organizational processes or ways of working through product/design is highly valued.
