About the Role
Alternative Payments is seeking a Head of Product to own the full product vision across their growing AI platform, spanning accounts receivable, accounts payable, and analytics. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on cross-functional ownership and technical depth, and wants to take a hands-on role in shaping product strategy, raising the bar for the PM team, and driving innovation that connects data, AI, and payments into a coherent product experience.
Responsibilities
- Own the product roadmap across AR, AP, and analytics, understanding product intersections and customer/engineering friction points.
- Manage and grow a team of product managers and product designers, overseeing product design scope.
- Collaborate with PMs to refine PRDs and ensure technical rigor in requirements, acting as a liaison between product and engineering.
- Define and own the future product vision by synthesizing market signals, customer insights, and company strategy into a roadmap.
- Implement AI thoughtfully across the product organization as a genuine product capability that creates value for partners.
- Propose and establish best practices for product team operations, including discovery, prioritization, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
- 10+ years of product experience, with significant time in financial technology (payments, lending, or money movement) or a vertical SaaS company with substantial payments revenue.
- Proven experience managing product managers and designers across a multi-product portfolio.
- Sufficient technical understanding to review system design documents, challenge engineering estimates, and guide PMs in writing trusted PRDs.
- Fluency with AI as a product capability, able to articulate its implementation beyond team tooling.
- Conceptual depth with AI technology, including familiarity with embeddings, RAG, and agent-based architectures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of writing clear strategy documents and conducting effective leadership reviews.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment with a rapidly evolving roadmap.
