About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Manager to lead a team of Engineers, Technicians, and Trainees within our operational Customer Fulfilment Centre. You will drive team success through capability assessment, development identification, and daily motivation, while managing workload allocation and disciplinary issues. This role requires leading from the front to ensure pace, accuracy, and standards across all CFC operations, demanding competence in both mechanical and electrical engineering for effective decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Leading a team of Engineers, Technicians, and Trainees
- Assessing team capabilities and identifying development opportunities
- Motivating team members on a daily basis
- Day-to-day allocation of workload
- Involvement in disciplinary issues
- Driving pace, accuracy, and standards across all aspects of the CFC
- Making critical decisions in a fast-paced role
Requirements
- Experience in leading a team of Engineers within an automated FMCG environment
- Comfortable making critical decisions in a fast-paced role
- Comprehensive understanding of production, picking, and storage MHE systems
- Computer literate
- Experience working with computerised maintenance management systems
- Keen to learn new skills and take a creative approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work safely at height
- Relevant applied learning, Engineering Technician Apprenticeship, Electrical and/or mechanical skills preferably gained in an FMCG background to at least NVQ 3
- Financial assistance is available for eligible UK candidates relocating 35 miles or more for this role
