About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Manager to lead a team of Engineers, Technicians, and Trainees within our Customer Fulfilment Centre. You will assess capabilities, identify development opportunities, and motivate your team, while managing daily workload allocation and disciplinary issues. This role requires leading from the front to drive pace, accuracy, and standards, demanding competence in both mechanical and electrical engineering for effective decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Leading a team of Engineers, Technicians, and Trainees
- Assessing team capabilities and identifying development opportunities
- Motivating team members daily
- Day-to-day allocation of workload
- Involvement in disciplinary issues
- Driving pace, accuracy, and standards across all aspects of the CFC
- Making critical decisions in a fast-paced role
Requirements
- Experience in leading a team of Engineers within an automated FMCG environment
- Comfortable making critical decisions in a fast-paced role
- Competent and experienced Engineer (mechanically or electrically)
- Familiar and competent with both mechanical and electrical engineering streams
- Comprehensive understanding of production, picking, and storage MHE systems
- Computer literate
- Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems
- Keen to learn new skills
- Creative approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work safely at height
