About the Role
Our mission in Customer IT at Vattenfall IT is to develop and operate digital solutions and products that enable our business units to achieve our common goal: fossil-free living within one generation. Optimizing and digitizing business processes is essential to achieving this goal, simplifying the daily work of our specialists and allowing them to focus on innovative ideas and products. The backend system for Vattenfall Sales Germany is transitioning from a monolithic architecture to a cloud-native microservice architecture. As a .NET Software Engineer (Backend), you will contribute to this transformation by building .NET applications on our Azure Cloud Platform. You will be part of an agile team based in Berlin/Hamburg and remote, focusing on operational tasks and challenges in the AWS and Microsoft Azure environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop modern .NET backend applications in a cloud-native architecture
- Utilize Azure services to implement scalable and maintainable solutions
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps
- Actively participate in architectural decisions for software and solution architecture
- Take responsibility for the operational management and continuous development of the developed systems
- Collaborate closely with the business to analyze and implement functional requirements
Requirements
- Solid experience in developing modern backend applications, ideally in cloud-based environments
- Proficiency in the .NET ecosystem
- Good technical understanding of related topics such as infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability
- Experience working with clean, maintainable architectures
- Understanding the importance of automation, unit tests, and integration tests
- Practical implementation experience with Microservices, Event-driven communication, or the 12-Factor principles
- Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
