About the Role
As a Senior SAP Consultant, Cash and Payments, Public Sector, you will design sophisticated SAP solutions for public-sector customers, combining in-depth SAP expertise with a strong understanding of public administration requirements. The role focuses on cash, payment, and related financial processes, involving challenging advisory work, solution design, application management support, and mentoring junior colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Advising public-sector customers on the design, optimization, and transformation of their SAP-based financial processes, with a focus on cash and payments.
- Analyzing complex business and technical requirements and translating them into robust end-to-end solution concepts.
- Ensuring integration of cash and payment processes with the wider SAP landscape.
- Designing solutions for processes such as payment processing, receivables management, open items, and cash desk operations.
- Supporting SAP projects through multiple phases, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, go-live, and Application Management.
- Taking responsibility for your workstream in complex customer projects.
- Working independently with business teams, development, Application Management, and other project stakeholders.
- Facilitating workshops and confidently presenting solution concepts to customers, project leads, and management.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of solutions, methods, and best practices for SAP Public Sector.
Requirements
- Several years of consulting experience.
- At least 5–7 years of hands-on SAP experience, with a focus on cash and payment processes.
- Experience with SAP Public Sector Management (PSM).
- Familiarity with both cameral accounting and double-entry accounting.
- Understanding of cash and payment processes specific to public administration (e.g., e-payment, SEPA, federal or state cash offices).
- Proven ability to gather business requirements in a structured way and translate them into robust solution concepts.
- Excellent ability to explain complex topics.
- Fluent German skills for professional negotiations.
