About the Role
As Lead SAP Consultant, Cash and Payments, Public Sector, you will design sophisticated SAP solutions for public-sector customers, combining in-depth SAP expertise with a strong understanding of public administration requirements. The role focuses on cash, payment, and related financial processes, involving challenging advisory work, solution design, and subject-matter leadership. You will also mentor junior colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Advising public-sector customers on the design, optimization, and transformation of their SAP-based financial processes, with a focus on cash and payments.
- Analyzing complex business and technical requirements and turning them into robust end-to-end solution concepts.
- Taking responsibility for solution design and ensuring that cash and payment processes are integrated with the wider SAP landscape.
- Designing solutions for processes such as payment processing, receivables management, open items, and cash desk operations.
- Supporting SAP projects through multiple phases—from gathering and assessing business requirements through design and implementation to testing and go-live—as well as providing support through Application Management.
- Providing subject-matter leadership to consultants and other experts on complex customer projects.
- Coordinating collaboration between business teams, SAP consulting, development, Application Management, and other project stakeholders.
- Facilitating workshops and confidently presenting solution concepts to customers, project leads, and management.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of solutions, methods, and best practices for SAP Public Sector.
Requirements
- Several years of consulting experience.
- At least 5–7 years of hands-on SAP experience, with a focus on cash and payment processes.
- SAP S/4HANA Finance expertise, including in-depth knowledge of modern financial architectures and proven implementation experience.
- Solid grounding in SAP Customizing and the technical configuration of relevant SAP modules.
- Proven ability to gather business requirements in a structured way and translate them into robust solution concepts.
- Excellent ability to explain complex topics.
- Fluent German skills for professional negotiations.
