About the Role
Lead the design and delivery of large, ambiguous projects end to end, from planning through production. Own the long-term technical health of a platform domain, driving architecture decisions and mentoring senior engineers. Raise the bar on tooling, testing, and delivery practices across teams.
Responsibilities
- Set the technical direction for shared services and components.
- Design APIs, tools, and design system components.
- Improve the speed, safety, and reliability of software development.
- Gather feedback from internal engineers and iterate on solutions.
- Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineering leadership.
- Influence roadmaps of adjacent teams.
- Drive architecture decisions and write technical proposals.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers.
- Set the standard for code review.
- Raise the bar on tooling, testing, and delivery practices.
- Take on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience building full-stack web or mobile products.
- Track record of leading technical work at a scope beyond a single team.
- Deep hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Experience designing shared systems that held up at scale.
- Experience with mobile-first, responsive, iterative development.
- Track record of writing maintainable, testable code.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort making progress on a problem before the spec is fully settled.
- Day-to-day use of AI tools in development workflow.
