About the Role
Base is seeking a full stack engineer to own products and systems that drive customer acquisition, activation, and retention. This role involves experimenting on and scaling existing products, as well as building new growth products and infrastructure from scratch. The ideal candidate will exercise strong judgment, focus on conversion without sacrificing clarity or trust, and operate with a high degree of ownership in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Turn ideas into shipped tests across the member journey, from redesigned sign-up flows to paid ads campaigns and referral experiences
- Write code, read results, and decide on the next tests
- Own products and systems that drive acquisition, activation, and retention
- Build growth infrastructure, including the data pipeline, to enable fast and trustworthy experimentation
- Use judgment to identify leverage points and prioritize problems, optimizing for conversion while maintaining clarity and trust
- Identify opportunities and work from first principles, rather than executing a predefined roadmap
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience building production software in product or full-stack engineering roles
- Strong frontend and full-stack engineering skills, with comfort across modern web applications, APIs, data models, and stateful user experiences
- Strong product judgment and a track record of turning ambiguous ideas into shipped, useful products
- Experience building in 0-to-1 or fast-moving environments where user needs, product shape, and success metrics are still evolving
- Experience using product analytics, experimentation, and data to guide decisions
- Ability to work with intensity and urgency, and to hold a high bar for personal output
- Willingness to adapt to evolving priorities and potential expansion of responsibilities
