About the Role
Rye Country Day School (RCDS) is seeking a Boys Varsity Tennis Head Coach for the spring season. The coach will lead the Upper School boys' varsity team, plan practices and competitions, and foster an inclusive and challenging environment. The role also involves teaching tennis fundamentals, maintaining a safe environment, and professional communication with all stakeholders. The coach will have access to RCDS tennis courts for running camps and clinics outside of school programming.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Head Boys Varsity Tennis Coach for the Upper School.
- Effectively plan and organize both practices and competition calendars in conjunction with the Director of Athletics and Athletic Staff.
- Create an inclusive, exciting, and challenging environment each day.
- Teach and coach the basic fundamentals and strategies of tennis.
- Collaborate with Director of Athletics and staff in planning and communication.
- Maintain a safe environment at all times.
- Communicate with athletes, parents, coaches, and opponents in a professional manner.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-years successful high school boys tennis coaching experience.
- A passion for athletic competition and the ability to motivate and inspire athletes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive school community.
- Energetic and enthusiastic, flexible and patient.
