About the Role
Be part of a team that keeps customers and their vehicles moving. Assist customers with their auto parts needs, process sales, handle merchandise, and help maintain a clean, safe, and organized store. From the sales counter to deliveries and inventory, this is an active, customer-focused role where teamwork and dependable service matter.
Responsibilities
- Greet each customer in a timely manner and answer the telephone within three (3) rings
- Answer customer questions regarding price, availability, and function of merchandise
- Obtain merchandise for customers and create invoices
- Ensure outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment, greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, and possessing solid product knowledge
- Total price and tax on merchandise, determine the bill, accept payment, and make change
- Wrap or bag merchandise for customers
- Obtain signature on charge invoices and accept payment and make change on cash invoices
- Place special orders as required by customer
- Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift
- Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise
- Set up advertising displays or arrange merchandise to promote sales
- Stamp, mark, or tag price on merchandise
- Bag or box orders accordingly
- Ensure outgoing transfers are processed properly and timely
- Clean shelves, counters, or tables
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat, maintaining a clean shipping supply area, and complying with all OSHA and company safety procedures, rules, and regulations
- Perform custodial duties including sweeping warehouse/showroom, dusting shelves, organizing merchandise, cleaning and stocking restrooms, and keeping aisles clear
- Present a good image of the company through proper dress and attitude
- Participate in and complete sponsored and supported training
- Attend training or use electronic media to increase product knowledge
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management
- Maintain grounds and parking lot
- Maintain a satisfactory attendance record and appearance
Requirements
- Ability to work well with others and assist customers cooperatively and courteously
- Exemplary company work record, including attendance
- Must be able to work in a high-paced, busy atmosphere
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
- Must have basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to read and write in English
- Must successfully complete background and criminal history checks
- Must pass a physical, human performance evaluation, and a drug test
- Good understanding of and adherence to company policies and procedures
- Must maintain regular and prompt attendance
- Attitude that supports the Company’s goals and values
