About the Role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you will be the "tip of the spear" for LumApps' most strategic initiative, solving complex technical challenges to accelerate the adoption of our core AI technologies: Micro-Apps and Agents. You will operate at the intersection of engineering and customer impact, navigating technical constraints to deploy live, ROI-generating AI Agents within rapid cycles. This role offers a rare opportunity to accelerate your career by working with senior leadership and opening doors toward future roles as an architect, tech lead, or product manager.
Responsibilities
- Embed with customers to map complex data environments and identify high-friction business workflows, such as HR onboarding or IT support.
- Build proof-of-concept AI Agents and integrations using APIs, webhooks, and LLMs that plan, decide, and act within the LumApps ecosystem.
- Architect the middleware and custom connectors required to bridge LumApps with systems like SAP, Workday, or ServiceNow.
- Act as the trailblazer for our Core R&D team, identifying systemic integration patterns and contributing code to evolve the core platform.
- Abstract custom solutions into scalable, repeatable "Industry Vertical Packs."
Requirements
- Candidates must be located in the Greater Toronto Area.
- Bring 6+ years of engineering or technical deployment experience that includes customer-facing work.
- Demonstrated excellence in analytical thinking and software development.
- A strong bias for action and the ability to self-prioritize in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
- Full professional proficiency in English to communicate clearly with engineers, product teams, and customers.
- Willingness to travel for regular on-site workshops with customers across North America.
