About the Role
CNY Fertility is a renowned fertility center offering advanced treatments like IVF, IUI, and egg freezing. With a patient-centered approach and cutting-edge technology, we support individuals and couples on their journey to parenthood. Our LPN performs patient-specific duties in the area of fertility including patient care, teaching, triage, and procedures, under the direction of the physician.
Responsibilities
- Places patients in rooms and assists with recording and taking vital signs.
- Records patient history, medications, and significant changes.
- Performs all prescribed injections.
- Performs phlebotomy successfully.
- Collects and labels specimens as outlined in lab orders/requisitions.
- Transports specimens to the lab promptly for testing.
- Starts, maintains, and discontinues IV lines under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
- Maintains factual and thorough health care records.
- Reports any concerns to direct RN supervisor or Physician.
- Communicates, reviews, and records all laboratory results under the direct supervision of a provider or a registered nurse.
- Cleans, stocks, and maintains all exam rooms.
- Participates in training, conferences, staff development, and continuing education programs pertaining to area of expertise.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
